returning to Rector where he opened Rector Style Shop on Main Street. He later moved to Little Rock when he became Bill Clinton's hair stylist.
We are very proud of The Ford Room. We host events in this venue from concerts to comedy nights.
We have several item available for as low as $10 donation to the museum. We can ship to you for extra $5.
Our military display is one of the best in the State of Arkansas. All uniforms are from local soldiers and from all wars back to WWI. Many pictures of local soldiers on display.
The Rector Community Museum was founded by the Rector Woman's Club in March 2003 . The members of the Woman's Club met with Joey Pruett who envisioned the museum as a way to save Rector historical artifacts and make them available for viewing by those in the surrounding area as well as out of town visitors.
When the Woman's Club dissolved, the museum was turned over to the museum Board of Directors. The original space was located in a small room behind the Rector Library. It quickly became too small to adequately display all the items. An empty building was available at 310 S. Main Street and was purchased in June of 2014.
The historic building was in much disrepair. After over 5000 volunteer hours, the museum was moved to the new location in January of 2019. 1000'S of additional hours have been donated by local volunteers.
